Ekocreashunz

Ekocreashunz was created with Alexis Denson at age 10, and is supporting the movement to protect Mother Earth!  We started this venture by recycling beads from old jewelry to make new creations and upcyling old worn out denim into jewelry, scrapbooks and placemats. Recently, we have incorporated eco-friendly beading wire and semi-precious stones to the collection. Alexis also makes all natural moisturizers, candles and bath salts. Custom orders are welcome!

Hi, my name is Melonie, and I am a mother of two grown children whom I can’t even begin to tell you how proud I am of them!  I’m also the owner of Fabulously Frugal Fashions!  To be honest, it’s a little weird how I got started.  I was a wildlife handler and after almost 20 years I decided to retire – I wanted to do something different.  After much soul-searching, I decided to go back to school and become a nurse, but I needed to find a part-time job.  A friend of mine suggested coming with her to a direct sales jewelry party, and I couldn’t believe the prices they were asking for the jewelry!  Fashion jewelry should not be out of reach for us working gals –  that’s when Fabulously Frugal Fashion was born.

Hi!  My name is Ohenewaa White-Ra and I am the Owner and Operator of MamaLei Body Essentials, a small mom-based business dedicated to the overall wholeness of mind and body. I work out of my dining room, birthed in response to my desire to cross-off an item on my bucket-list, which was company downsizing, and a passion for wholeness of mind and body. PRODUCT REVIEW ~ Jewelry, Birdhouses & Mobiles, etc.

I really can’t say enough about Laurel, the owner or Jewelry, Birdhouses & Mobiles, etc.  She has been one of my biggest supporters since I started Fruit of Her Hands back in February, and I’m so thankful for her.  This is my second Product Review for her, and I’m just as thrilled with these pieces as I was with the last.  Her work is consistent, reliable, and gets better and better as time passes – in my book those are priceless qualities for a small business to have.

The first piece Laurel sent me was her Magnasite (white turquoise), Howlite & Turquoise necklace which is on a silver plated chain with a lobster clasp.  Just beautiful!  If you love turquoise, you’ll adore this necklace – you can wear it day or night to jazz up your fave casual outfit!  It would also make a great gift for that special someone who has a birthday coming in December since Turquoise is one of the birthstones for that month.   

The second piece she sent was her Barefoot Sandals!  Perfect for wearing with flip-flops or sandals, or for going barefoot on the beach – these Barefoot Sandals will have everyone stopping you to ask where you bought them.  Whether you wear them to a pool party, or just around town while you’re running errands, I know you will love all of the compliments you will receive!

PRODUCT REVIEW ~ Oklahoma Independent Dove Chocolate Discoveries Chocolatier

Oklahoma Independent Dove Chocolate Discoveries Chocolatier ~ Angela Hamlin

Confession.  I’m a choco-holic.  I know, I know… it’s shameful, but true.  I just can’t help myself, I mean, it’s CHOCOLATE, right??  So when Angela asked me to write a product review for her Dove Chocolate Discoveries business I tried my hardest to behave in a professional manner – on the outside.  On the inside???  I’ll spare you the gory details… needless to say, I could not wait to receive her products (YES! Plural!!)  in the mail.

The first product to arrive was the Truffle Fudge Brownie Mix.  Need I say more?  <deep sigh>  I had to laugh when Angela said in her email that they freeze well if there are any left over.  Ha!  They barely made it for pics!

I have tried a lot of gourmet or specialty brand brownie mixes, but hands down, this was the best boxed brownie mix I’ve ever eaten.   When they say that, “This is a fantasy of chocolate-on-chocolate…”, they’re absolutely right!  We ate them warm, right out of the oven, and my girls and I were in chocolate heaven.  We thought about topping them with some cold vanilla bean ice cream, but there was no need for any extras – they stood just fine on their own.  They were warm ooey-gooey deliciousness, and loaded with melted chunks of Dove’s premium dark chocolate goodness.  Amazing.   Just amazing.  And then they were gone.  <tears>

The second product to arrive was the  White Chocolate Mango Mojito Mix – equally delicious and so simple to make!  We just blended it up with some ice and 7-Up and voila!  The perfect blended summer drink!  Perfect for BBQ’s or get togethers of any kind – this drink will be sure to impress your guests.  If you want to make it into an adult beverage, just add some of your favorite Rum (for some reason I’m thinking about pirates right now).  <wink!>  I have to confess, I was so excited to taste this drink that I forgot to take pics, and mine didn’t even have any Rum in it!  

I’m quite positive that any Dove chocolate products that you purchase from Angela are going ‘wow’ you, and Angela is wonderful to work with!  So treat yourself with some well deserved chocolate bliss, and don’t forget that the holidays are right around the corner – you will be Hostess of the Year when you offer your guests a big plate of amazing chocolate goodness!
